Hello Taskaders! 👋
Another productive year is over. We’d like to use this opportunity to express our gratitude for the support and trust you, our community, showed in the last 12 months. We couldn’t have made it without your feedback, awesome through and through.
It’s a little custom around Taskade that we reflect on what we’ve managed to accomplish and discuss our goals, plans, and aspirations for the coming year. So, what do you say we dust off the crystal ball and see what’s in store for 2022?
🎈 2021 Taskade Highlights!
We’ve put some serious elbow grease into making Taskade one of the leading collaboration platforms in the wild. After winning Product Hunt’s #1 Product of the Month in 2020, we kept pushing the envelope to become even better.
And it paid off! 🥳
- 🚀 Taskade V4 Launch. We released a more intuitive and powerful Taskade V4 with a completely redesigned user interface and better Workspace navigation.
- 👍 Valuable Feedback. You sent us almost 300 feature and integrations requests, and we listened. Many of those are already live with more to come this year!
- ⚙️ 50+ New Features. We rolled out over 50 new features spanning 20 rounds of mobile and desktop updates. Visit the Product Updates page to learn more.
Yep, 2021 was a busy year for our team. Your suggestions and feedback helped us implement many substantial updates (and a few tiny ones) to make Taskade even better for you.
Here are a few more milestones that make us really proud. ❤️
✨ Cool Features We Rolled Out in 2021
The first round of updates in Q1 introduced Workspace emojis, better Apple M1 compatibility, and much-requested calendar improvements. We also put on our thinking hats and refreshed the Roadmap and the Action view for your productive pleasure.
In March, we launched 2-way Google calendar sync and a redesigned Org Chart workflow, now with better node/branch visibility. On top of video conferencing and screen sharing improvements, we added Project History that gives you an overview of all changes made to a Project.
Q2 brought more exciting updates, including Workspace sorting by due dates, a Checker role, and copying tasks across Projects. Nobody likes blocks of text, so we added Embed for platforms like YouTube and Figma, all with instant previews. Expect to see more embed sources in 2022!
Interacting with the Taskade team is now easier thanks to our Feedback Page. You can submit and vote on feature requests to help us set the right course. We believe in full transparency, so there’s also a new Taskade Status page that shows you the condition of our API and apps.
By the end of July, we took another important step toward unified remote collaboration with a completely redesigned Taskade V4. Cleaner, simpler, and snappier than all previous versions, the new layout helped us bring order and tranquility to the Workspace view.

Taskade V4 has been growing with the addition of more powerful features like Version History that lets you restore projects to their previous states. Version History tracks edits and saves snapshots you can browse and bring back in an instant. We also introduced Discord-style markdown support in chat and comments to make conversations more fun and engaging.
The new Workspace view wasn’t our last word in 2021. Shortly after the refresh, we gave the Project editor the same loving treatment. Some of the changes included a new view switcher in Project view and a toggleable chat window. We also launched a referral program that lets you earn credits for inviting others to Taskade. You can use the credits to upgrade to Tasked Unlimited for free.
Many of you were asking for a Pomodoro timer, and we listened. In October, all productivity enthusiasts got to play with super convenient countdown timers. You can now add custom timers to your Projects and keep track of every minute spent working on a task. We also refreshed the Kanban view marking the last step in the overhaul of Taskade workflows in 2021.
The end of 2021 sparked what must have been the most heated feature debate in Taskade history. Project banners replaced Wunderlist-style backgrounds to add clarity and make space for new workflows. Your feedback, however, put us back into brainstorming mode and we brought backgrounds back with more upgrades and additional settings.
That’s what we call a productive win-win!
Finally, the last major update in 2021 introduced virtual backgrounds, along with improved call quality and snappier screen sharing. This one was a tight squeeze, but we managed to push new Project wallpapers and throw in a better mobile experience as the cherry on top. 🍒
