What is Taskade?

Taskade is a managed AI-first workspace founded in 2017 by John Xie, Dionis Loire, and Stan Chang (Y Combinator-backed). Linked notes, tasks, files, and structured data live in one workspace where AI Agents v2 reason over them, durable automations execute against them, and Genesis can turn them into deployed apps.

Taskade runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, and web. Get started instantly for free today.

What is Logseq?

Logseq is an open-source, local-first outliner founded by Tienson Qin in 2020 as a privacy-respecting alternative to Roam Research. It stores notes as Markdown or Org-mode files on your computer, supports bidirectional links and block references, and ships a Graph View for visualizing connections. The whole project is MIT-licensed and community-driven.

Logseq at a glance: MIT open source. Local-first Markdown / Org-mode vault. Strong privacy story. Plugin ecosystem for AI and integrations (DIY). Single-user by default; team sync requires self-hosting or paid Sync.

Logseq is excellent at one job: a privacy-first, file-owned outliner for individuals who want full control of their data and a community-driven plugin culture. If you value open source and local files above all else, Logseq remains a top pick for that narrow job.

What Taskade adds for teams

AI Agents reason over your notes out of the box

AI Agents v2 come with 33 built-in tools (web search, file analysis, image generation, code execution, project management), persistent memory, and custom tools. No plugins to install — train an agent on your workspace and it answers questions, surfaces related notes, and triggers automations.

Genesis turns notes into deployed apps

Describe a knowledge portal, an internal wiki, an intake form, or a customer-facing hub and Genesis returns a deployed application with custom domains, password protection, and OIDC/SSO. Browse the Community Gallery for real apps shipped from a single prompt.

100+ bidirectional integrations

Connect Slack, Gmail, Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, Shopify, Google Sheets, GitHub, Calendly, and 90+ more. Triggers pull events in. Actions push data out. All on a production-grade durable runtime.

Real-time team collaboration

Multiplayer editing, live cursors, in-project chat, and video meetings live inside every project — on the Free Forever plan. Logseq is single-user by default; team sync requires self-hosting.

7 project views

List, Board, Calendar, Table, Mind Map, Gantt, and Org Chart. Switching views does not duplicate data — the same content renders any way you need it.

The Workspace DNA advantage

Taskade is built on Workspace DNA — a self-reinforcing loop between three pillars.

  • Memory (Projects) — Linked notes, tasks, files, and structured data become the substrate every agent reasons over.
  • Intelligence (AI Agents) — Agents v2 with 33 built-in tools, persistent memory, and custom tools you define.
  • Execution (Automations) — Durable workflows across 100+ integrations that read from Memory, act through Intelligence, and write the results back into Memory.

Logseq gives you a private, file-owned outliner. Taskade runs the loop where the outliner itself becomes the input that AI builds, automates, and executes against — across an entire team. Read the Workspace DNA explainer.
